The First Look at Noovo's Super High Roof Promaster Conversion
At our first couple of shows this year in San Juan Capistrano and Santa Rosa, we got our first look at the new Super High Roof Ram Promaster Chassis! Noovo (formerly Be My Van) has utilized this chassis for a stunning build that boasts tons of headroom, perfect for vanlifers who are on the taller side. Even if the extra standing headroom isn’t necessary for you, it still offers practical benefits, such as additional upper cabinet storage, a larger fridge, freezer, and microwave, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to sleep four in a bunk bed configuration.
Promaster vs. Sprinter vs. Transit Dimensions
The super high roof has a vertical height of 86 inches (7’ 2” or 2.18 meters), which is an additional 11 inches higher than the high roof Promaster interior height. In addition to the height, the interior width offers ample space as well, at 6’ 3” (190.5 cm) wide.
I got a look at the blank chassis when it rolled into their shop back in November 2023. I was excited to see what they would come up with, and they knocked it out of the park. I am 6’ 3”, and when I stand in many adventure van builds, I have to dip my head to stand up straight, especially when builds lose a couple of inches due to under-floor or above-ceiling space for components. In this one, I have plenty of headroom.
Interior space compared to other popular models: (simplified)
- Promaster Super High Roof: 86” High, 75” Wide
- Promaster High Roof: 77” High, 75” Wide
- Sprinter: 79” High, 70.5” Wide
- Transit: 81.5” High, 68” Wide
When I arrived at the location where we shot the video linked at the beginning of this article, the Noovo crew was already hanging out in the back of the van. The U-shaped lounge area is a pleasant place to be. Four of us were sitting there simultaneously, and the space did not feel cramped at all. The electric rise table in the center has hinges that fold up, allowing for more space to get in and out of the seating area. This attention to detail made interacting with the space much easier.
Attention to detail seems to be a common theme. The more time you spend in this van, the more you discover. The aesthetics of the build are warm and inviting, creating a place you won’t mind spending large amounts of time in, or even living in full-time. It has all the comforts of home, including numerous kitchen amenities, a full shower and toilet, a swing-out TV screen, satellite internet, filtered drinking water, and much more.
There’s much more to talk about, but I’ll let you explore this build on your own. Check out the van tour video at the beginning of this article that shows the general layout of the build, head over to Noovolife.com to dive deeper into the details, or better yet, check them out in person at an Adventure Van Expo in the future!
